Emergencies & Phone Calls

If you are experiencing a true, life-threatening emergency such as chest pain, or increased or new onset of shortness of breath, call 911 .

If you call our offices and leave a message, our nurses have a goal to return all calls on the same day they are received, usually during our regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

If you feel you need us, we want to hear from you. Please use the following as a guide for who and when you should make your phone call:

Call this clinic at (231) 924-1305 (Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.) OR

  • Call your family physician, or the Gerber Memorial Hospital Emergency Department at (231) 924-1300.
  • Go to the Emergency Department if your family physician is not available if you develop:
    • Uncontrollable nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
    • Sore mouth
    • Fever of 101F or higher
    • Unusual bleeding or bruising
    • Shortness of breath
    • Frequent or burning with urination
    • Pain, redness, or swelling at IV site
    • Any other problems that may concern you

  Call During Regular Office Hours (8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday)

  • If you have questions about your medication, treatment or side effects.
  • If you're having nutrition problems.

Never hesitate to call us for any problem that is important to you. There is no need to be miserable. If a certain medication is not working, call and let us know. Chances are, we can prescribe or suggest something to make you more comfortable.
