Childhood Cancer Survivors Have Increased Risk of Heart Disease (5/21/2008)
Survivors of childhood cancers have an approximately five- to tenfold increased risk of developing heart complications in early adulthood than the general population. The American Society of Clinical Oncology recently released these results.

Long-term Aspirin Use Lowers Cancer Death Rate in Women (3/29/2007)
According to an article published in the March 26, 2007 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine, moderate doses of aspirin are associated with a lower risk of all-cause mortality.The reduction in the rate of cancer deaths specifically was moderate and seen only after 10 years of usage.

Periodic Health Exam Increases Likelihood of Cancer Screening (3/26/2007)
According to a review of previously published studies, patients who visit a physician for a periodic health exam are more likely than other patients to receive a Pap smear and fecal occult blood test. This evaluation of the benefits of the periodic health exam was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
