HPV Infection May Raise Skin Cancer Risk (7/13/2010)
It appears that infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) may be linked with the incidence of squamous cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer. These findings were recently published in the journal BMJ.

More Evidence of Prevalence of Youth Tanning Bed Use (4/15/2010)
Use of tanning beds by youths age 11-17 in the UK is widespread according to results recently published in the British Medical Journal. Use of tanning beds has been linked with an increased risk of melanoma, the most deadly type of skin cancer.

School Program Aims to Reduce Youth Sun Exposure (3/31/2010)
Educating students and promoting sun exposure protection resulted in a significant increase in hat use at school but did not translate to an increase in hat use outside of school. These results were recently reported in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
